Last night everyone went to a fish fry for dinner. Evidently perch is a big deal and you can only get it in the Great Lakes State. I decided to skip going out to dinner for a number of reasons:

It would be a 30-40 minute drive each way

It was a fish fry and I HATE fish

I was feeling very nauseous and the thought of fried fish made it worse

I was tired

After a quick nap I realized I was starving and chow mein was the only thing that sounded edible. I called my husband who was having tons o’ fun eating and drinking to find out how far the Chinese restaurant was. Tadd warned me that I wouldn’t like it, that the food sucked. But I thought “Hey, who can screw up chow mein?!”. I threw caution to the wind and called in a order at the only Chinese restaurant in town. After 15 minutes I went down to pick it up. I got my order home and I opened the container. It was hot bean sprouts with some pork pieces and it smelled weird. I dumped it out thinking maybe the noodles were at the bottom…wrong. I called the restaurant and asked if they gave me the wrong order. The guy says “Didn’t you get a bag of noodles? You mix it in” It was a little bag of those dried Chung King noodles. I tried it just in case it was good. It was AWFUL. I threw it all away. Michigan cuisine is not doing well with my pregnant taste buds. And yes there are people out there that can screw up chow mein.
