Merry Christmas

December 25th, 2007 · 7 Comments

Merry Christmas to all of our friends and family.

After much wrangling and annoyance of the twins we got them into their stockings from their Mima T. Notice the Christmas tree hats she made.

Derby being a little pissy about being stuffed into his stocking

His binker calmed him down

Derby liked to hold the hat vs wearing it

Loen slept through the whole thing

Loen

I made Christmas cards but didnt buy enough paper, so for those who did not get a card from us this year look below!

Loen has been off the vent for 2 days now, we think she might stay off this time.

Derby got extubated on Friday but had to be reintubated on Saturday morning. He was working too hard. Saturday night he pulled out his breathing and NG tube himself. He decided he had enough of them, unfortunately his lungs werent in cahoots and had to quickly be reintubated. He is such a wild man now. They are going to try him off again soon since his vent settings are so low.

Derby on nasal cannula

We will update more later because we are off to the hospital to celebrate the twins first Christmas.

    Merry Christmas!
Happy to hear Loen is breathing on her own. I bet she will always be ahead of Derby, it’s a girl thing:-)
    Love you all

They are so beautiful! 2-0-0-8 is going to be a huge year for you and the twinkies. May you continue to be blessed even during the challenges that present themselves.

Too Cute! We wanted to put Violet in a stocking for our Christmas Card but her diaper made it impossible plus she was very fussy about it! The twins look great – we can’t wait to meet them! Tona

Wow. They’re really starting to look like little thriving babies now! Yay!

May 2008 bring all the love, warmth, joy and insanity that can come with having 2 babies in the house. And best of luck to the family in the coming year (judging by the mischievous look in those little eyes, you’ll need it).

We wish the four of you a very Happy New Year – we were thrilled to get your Xmas card with the twins signature! We love them. They are growing just beautiful and filling out just perfect.

They sure look like they are ready to come home – wishing you both the best with your little ones.

Thank you both for sharing your precious moments with all of us….. oh and by the way – our Xmas present… Leah is pregnant !!! Due in Aug 2008…. Moy is 10 yrs old now & hoping for a brother . We shall see what the good Lord brings them.

Tadd – I don’t think we have talked since high school…your website was passed along to me via the great Bad Axe grapevine.

I am truly captivated by your family story. I had twins on 6/8/07, a boy and a girl as well, Chase and Paige. I carried them to a miraculous 37 weeks, we were so lucky. They are thriving 7 month old babies, even though Paige has some medical issues of her own. We are taking her to U of M hospital to see many specialists. I can relate to some of your hospital experiences, concerns and unknowns. I pray that your babies will be home soon. Hang in there, it sounds like you already have the patience and love that all parents need.
