I had written a post before about making the babies some blankets once I was on maternity leave. As you can guess I never got the chance to do that. The other day a nurse suggested we bring in a couple of personal items to put on the incubator and it would be good if I were to sleep with a couple of the twins blankets. That way when they changed out their bedding they would use one of the blankets and the babies could get used to my smell. It would help with breastfeeding them later because they would recognize me. Faux Grandma Dee came to my rescue! I told her where the bag of fabric was and asked if she could make the sock monkey blankets for me and maybe a couple of small hand towel sized blankets to line their incubator. She was on that task so quickly! Tadd and I cant believe what a blanket making machine she has become. So far she has made the 2 large blankets and 6 of the little ones, not to mention there are more on the way!

Dee also picked up these little knit whales to decorate the top of their incubator. I LOVE them:

Tadd and I are so overwhelmed with the outpouring of love and well wishes. From the uplifting comments to all of the flowers and snacks that people have brought us. Thank you to everyone. I swear I will find time to send thank you cards out eventually!

I think I’ve become a blanket-making addict! Is there some sort of detox program available for this? Blanket Makers Anonymous (BMA) perhaps? I’d write more, but there is some fabric in the other room that is calling my name! XOXO
