I know better than to get wrapped up in those medical websites, but I still find myself there. I did stop myself from looking at sonogram gallery of congenital defects, I knew that would come back to haunt me. And even though I know better I got all freaked out about vanishing twin syndrome (see the wikipedia definition below). So I called the OB office to make an appointment to confirm the heartbeats. Someone at the front desk wasnt in the best mood because when she gave me the first available opening I told her I couldnt make it because I HAD to be at work. She then says “I’M trying to help YOU. What do you want me to do? (add a little huffy noise here)” I told her I could come in the next day and it worked out. Remind me never to call 25 minutes before closing again. Our appointment was this morning and we could hear both little heartbeats. I think I asked her twice if she was sure they were 2 seperate heartbeats and not the same kiddo. She checked again and she was sure

(Wiki definition: A vanishing twin is a fetus in a multi-gestation pregnancy which dies in utero and is then partially or completely reabsorbed by the mother. The occurrence of this phenomenon is sometimes referred to as twin embolisation syndrome or vanishing twin syndrome (VTS). Occasionally, rather than being completely resorbed, the dead fetus will undergo mechanical compression by its wombmate(s), resulting in a flattened, parchment-like state known as fetus papyraceus)
