It was a difficult covert op to Michigan. I give kudos to my husband for his ingenious planning and airplane ticket buying skills. Since I begin work on July 16th we decided to spend my last week of unemployment in Michigan. Nothing would be better than if we were to fly out to Michigan and show up on Tamie’s (Tadd’s mom) doorstep unannounced. This plan was getting better and better. First I need to back up and point out that Tadd is an only child, occasionally he can be spoiled but I love him anyways. The first time I met Tadd’s mom she was telling a story about Tadd in grade school and started to cry. I called my mom the next day to say I’ve never seen her cry when recounting my grade school glory days. My moms response was “Hava, I have 4 kids. I don’t have time to cry about grade school”. Nothing like being a middle child.
Anyways Tadd made super secret calls to Don (Tamie’s husband) and arranged times and dates. Only a couple of people knew that we were flying in for the week but no one was aware we were pregnant. Our plan was in motion.
We took the red eye out of Los Angeles on Friday night and got into Bay City, Michigan around 9 am. Had breakfast with Tadd’s best man Heath and his girlfriend Christine. Called Don (who was playing golf) and made plans to rendezvous at 1pm at Pete’s Bar in Bad Axe. The only thing keeping me going due to lack of sleep was the upcoming surprise. I knew she would cry, but would she faint?? We were giddy with anticipation. We drove up to the house behind Don. Don’t worry we taped the whole thing, as well as telling her that we are pregnant. Enjoy the waterworks. (Watch with sound)
